A resort facility in Malaysia is seeking an AV Technician responsible for setting up and troubleshooting audio, video, and lighting equipment for various events. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in a related field and 2–3 years of technical experience in hospitality or event environments. Key tasks include maintaining AV systems, managing equipment inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Flexibility for evening and weekend work is required, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio, video, and lighting equipment for meetings, conferences, events, and resort functions.
Maintain and repair AV equipment, ensuring all systems are in excellent working condition.
Monitor and manage AV control systems, sound systems, projectors, screens, and lighting consoles.
Assist with planning and executing AV requirements for events, including conferences, banquets, weddings, and in-house activities.
Work closely with the respective departments to ensure smooth operations.
Maintain inventory of AV equipment, accessories, and cables; recommend purchases or replacements as needed.
Ensure all AV equipment is compliant with safety standards and operational procedures.
Provide technical support for ad hoc requests or last-minute changes during events.
Any other duties or ad hoc tasks assigned by the Management.
Diploma, certificate, or equivalent in Audio-Visual Technology, Electronics, or related field.
Minimum 2–3 years of AV technical experience, preferably in hospitality, resorts, or event venues.
Strong technical knowledge of sound systems, projectors, screens, lighting, and other AV equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on AV systems.
Proactive, communication, problem‑solving skills, guest‑oriented mindset.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as events require.
Physically able to handle equipment setup, lifting, and installations.
Able to work under pressure, multitask, and respond to emergencies when required.
