Assistant Production Manager (Hot Dip Galvanizing)
The hot dip galvanizing Assistant Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the galvanizing process, from initial preparation to final inspection, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. This role includes leading a team, managing production schedules, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the galvanizing process, from surface preparation to the application of zinc coatings.
- Develop and execute production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of orders and optimal utilization of resources.
- Monitor the galvanization process, adjusting parameters as needed to achieve desired coating thickness and quality.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Conduct quality inspections and tests on galvanized products, troubleshoot any issues arise to ensure they meet required standards.
- Lead and mentor a galvanizer team, fostering a culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards, and address any deviations promptly.
- Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collect, analyze, and report on production data to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and other departments to address technical challenges and improve operations.
- Reduce cost to ensure profitability.
Required:
- Technical Certifications, Diploma, or Degree in Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in galvanizing or metal finishing processes.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining galvanizing equipment and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Ability to lead teams, and foster a positive work environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with automated galvanizing system.
- Familiarity with galvanizing of fasteners, and small components.
