Job Summary
As the Operations Assistant Manager, you will support the daily operations of the business, coordinate logistics and inventory, and assist in supervising staff to ensure smooth and efficient workflow. You are expected to uphold company standards and contribute to continuous improvement. Candidates with prior experience in live seafood operations or related industries will be highly preferred.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in live seafood operations, seafood processing, wholesale, or related food industries is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with seafood handling, cold chain logistics, and hygiene standards will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Monitor daily seafood processing and packaging activities to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely dispatch of goods to customers.
- Supervise cleanliness and hygiene practices in accordance with food safety standards, especially in handling live and fresh seafood.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Track stock levels of raw materials and finished products.
- Assist in stock ordering and receiving processes.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies.
Staff Coordination
- Assist in preparing staff duty rosters and shift schedules.
- Support onboarding and training of new operational staff.
- Address minor staff issues and elevate major concerns to management.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily and weekly operational reports (e.g., output volume, delivery status).
- Maintain accurate records of stock movement and production logs.
- Submit incident reports when operational issues arise.
Vendor & Supplier Liaison
- Communicate with suppliers regarding order timelines and delivery issues.
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance and product quality, particularly for seafood sourcing.
Process Improvement
- Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in daily operations.
- Propose practical solutions to improve workflow and reduce waste.
Other Duties
- Perform any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time, based on operational needs.
