A logistics company in Johor Bahru is seeking an IT Manager to oversee operations and manage an annual IT budget. The role requires experience in IT project management, infrastructure, and policies. The candidate must have strong communication skills in English and Mandarin to coordinate with teams in China. Responsibilities include ensuring high availability and reliability of IT systems, conducting health checks, and managing vendor relationships. Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate enterprise IT and information systems operations.
Define IT requirements aligned with business operations, strategic direction, and technology availability.
Select and manage IT infrastructure including servers, networks, hardware, and software, ensuring cost efficiency, security, and system availability.
Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation in alignment with corporate and industry standards.
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate IT operations, technical, and helpdesk teams.
Prepare and manage annual IT CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
Collaborate with department heads to gather system requirements, define specifications, costs, and timelines.
Plan, execute, and report on IT projects, milestones, and performance to senior management.
Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets and resources.
Manage vendor relationships, including contract renewals, cost negotiations, and service performance reviews.
Deliver regular IT performance and status reports to management.
Ensure high availability, reliability, and accessibility of all IT systems and network services.
Conduct regular health checks of servers, databases, and network infrastructure.
Implement and monitor system backups and disaster as required.
Monitor IT KPIs, system performance, and infrastructure maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
Enforce compliance with IT processes, standard operating procedures, information security policies, and service-level agreements.
Provide second-level technical support and escalation handling for IT issues.
Manage user access, Active Directory, IP address allocation, and security credentials.
Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, mobile devices, applications, and peripherals.
Conduct user orientation and provide technical training to IT staff.
Research and evaluate new IT technologies, services, and solutions.
Manage IT asset lifecycle, including procurement, maintenance, and secure disposal.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT project management, IT strategy and KPI development, infrastructure and end-user management, IT policies and procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
Fluent in English and Mandarin, with ability to communicate effectively with China-based teams and counterparts.
