Job summary

A leading resort and entertainment company in Genting Highlands seeks an experienced Industrial Relations Manager. The role involves formulating IR policies, leading a diverse team to handle grievances, and ensuring compliance with laws. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree, 4+ years in Industrial Relations, strong knowledge of employment laws, and excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin proficiency is a plus, and experience in a unionized environment is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of working experience specializing in Industrial Relations or HR Generalist.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act 1955 and Industrial Relations Act 1967.
  • Ability to handle Industrial Relations matters independently.

  • Formulate and review IR policies and guidelines to promote industrial harmony.
  • Lead, guide, develop, coach and motivate a diverse team in managing any grievances, disputes and disciplinary cases towards a prompt and amicable resolution.
  • Ensure disciplinary actions taken are in compliance with Employment Act 1955.
  • Advise and direct line managers accordingly on the appropriate disciplinary actions consistent with the Company’s policy and procedures.
  • Conduct Industrial Relations related training.
  • Initiate effort that promotes good faith and mutual respect in terms of relationship with the Union.
  • Serve as Company’s representative in Industrial/Labour Court.
  • Assist in revision of Collective Agreement.
Job requirements
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Law, Human Resources Management, Business Studies or related discipline.
  • At least 4 years of working experience specializing in Industrial Relations or HR Generalist with working experience in Industrial Relations related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967, Trade Union Act 1959 and current labour law practices.
  • Ability to handle Industrial Relations matters relating to employee discipline, domestic inquiries and grievances independently.
  • Strong leadership qualities, negotiation and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Able to speak in Mandarin will be an added advantage.
  • Exposure/working in a unionized environment will be an added advantage.
