Job summary

An innovative technology company in Johor Bahru is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager/Senior Finance Executive to take charge of financial performance and lead the finance team. Responsibilities include managing monthly closing activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and liaising with auditors and external parties. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of finance experience, a relevant degree, and excellent communication skills. Knowledge of Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in finance or accounting.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in liaising with China counterparts is a plus.

Job Descriptions
  • Take full responsibility for overall finance and accounting performance, including monthly closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Assist in managing Accounts Payable functions and preparing cash flow statements.
  • Review and ensure accurate submission of quarterly GST returns.
  • Prepare, analyze, and provide financial information and reports to internal and external stakeholders on a timely basis.
  • Lead, support, and mentor the Finance team, contributing to process improvements and strengthening financial controls as the company grows.
  • Monitor and manage daily financial operations, including payments, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking.
  • Assist in budgeting,, and variance analysis to support management decision‑making.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation requirements, and company policies.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, and other external parties where required.
Job Requirements
  • Preferably at least 3 years of working experience in a related finance or accounting field.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting, professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong communication skills, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi‑task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Senior Auditors are encouraged apply.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin or experience liaising with China counterparts is an added advantage.
