Job summary

A leading finance entity in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a finance professional to assist in commercial and corporate finance activities. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and have a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or MIA. Responsibilities include financial reporting, month-end closing, and compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience and offers opportunities to support infrastructure projects.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the commercial and corporate finance activities of the Group’s infrastructure projects, including preparation of financial proposals, support in contract negotiations, corporate structuring documentation, and monitoring of project cash flows.
  • Prepare and support timely month‑end financial closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for management review.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of quarterly financial reports in compliance with corporate governance and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare quarterly Board of Directors (BOD) / Audit Committee (AC) papers and support the preparation of annual audited financial statements.
  • Liaise with bankers, auditors, tax agents, company secretary, and relevant authorities on routine finance‑related matters, under the guidance of senior management.
  • Support compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and external reporting obligations.
  • Supervise and support junior finance staff and subsidiary finance teams on daily operational matters, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures.
  • Prepare and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business analysis, cost control, margin, and profitability analysis.
  • Prepare monthly budget vs actual analysis, identify variances, and highlight key findings to management for further action.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating finance policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Maintain and ensure proper documentation of Finance SOPs.
  • Undertake ad‑hoc finance‑related projects and assignments as required by superiors from time to time.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA / CPA / MIA / CIMA is preferred.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
  • Exposure to group consolidation and management reporting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS).
  • Familiarity with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, including quarterly announcements, financial disclosures, and compliance timelines.
