Job summary

A leading global apparel company seeks a Finance Manager in Kuala Lumpur to oversee financial operations and accounting for the region. The role entails collaborating with regional HQ, managing compliance, conducting financial analysis, and providing strategic financial advice. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree and have over 7 years of experience, preferably in the fashion or retail industry. Professional qualifications such as ACCA or CPA are preferred, along with fluency in English and strong interpersonal skills.

Job description

Manage the full spectrum of accounting and finance function, collaborating with both regional HQ (OAP) and OHQ finance teams.

Ensure smooth operations of accounting and finance to meet OAP and OHQ timelines.

Lead accounting team and provide support for Onitsuka Tiger OAP and, including but not limited to credit limit management, collections, and payment policies in country and support OAP.

Responsible for semi-annual budget exercise against actual performance, develop monthly forecasts, and provide financial insights risks and opportunities.

Responsible for financial reports of statutory requirement, taxes or related, and internal management or external purposes.

Work with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with Malaysian regulations and OAP, OHQ guidelines.

Ensure compliance with Approval Matrix or Limit of Authority (LOA) management in the organization.

Provide an insight of P&L analysis, and recommendation, or solution (Sales, margin etc), particularly in retail store P&L management and business development investments across retail, e-commerce & wholesale channels in country and OAP.

Provide financial advice as a business partner to the management team to support strategic decision-making and drive sales expansion and long-term profitability initiatives.

Analyse and summarize comprehensive reporting package requirements for OAP and OHQ.

Identify and work cross function to implement process improvements, including streamlining financial reporting and developing financial controls.

Support and coordinate recruitment activities for Onitsuka Tiger in country.

Oversee payroll administration via outsourcing partners, and assist on work pass applications if any.

Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned or needed by the Management team.

JOB REQUIREMENT
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Studies, or equivalent
  • Fluent communication skills in English
  • Minimum 7 years or more of relevant experience
  • Professional accounting qualifications preferred (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working in a global organization with knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels of stakeholders
  • Experience in the retail industry such as fashion (apparel/footwear) and cosmetics is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Power BI is a plus
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet timelines and adapt to fast-changing business environment
