A manufacturing company in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, is looking for an Automation Technician to assist in the setup and monitoring of IML robotic systems and injection molding machines. The role includes quality control, troubleshooting, and supporting process optimization efforts. Candidates should have a diploma or degree in engineering and strong problem-solving skills. Prior experience in plastic manufacturing or IML automation is advantageous. A fast-paced production environment is expected.
Assist in the setup, operation, and monitoring of IML robotic systems and injection molding machines.
Ensure production activities follow daily schedules and meet output targets.
Support mold changeovers, label loading, and machine parameter adjustments.
Monitor product quality during production and ensure compliance with specifications.
Identify and report defects related to labeling, molding, or automation.
Work closely with the quality team to maintain consistent product standards.
Assist in diagnosing issues with IML robots, label feeders, EOAT (end-of-arm tooling), and sensors.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
Perform basic maintenance tasks as required.
Support continuous improvement projects to optimize cycle time, reduce waste, and increase machine efficiency.
Analyze production data and suggest improvements for IML automation performance.
Maintain production logs, downtime reports, and machine performance records.
Assist in preparing shift reports and documentation required for audits.
Follow all safety protocols and ensure safe operation of machines and automation systems.
Support implementation of 5S and other manufacturing standards.
Basic knowledge of injection molding, IML automation, and robotic systems.
Understanding of PLC-controlled machinery (preferred).
Ability to read machine manuals and technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
Prior experience in plastic manufacturing or IML automation is an advantage.
