The Record to Report (RTR) Analyst – General Accounting & Intercompany is responsible for supporting end-to-end general ledger activities within a Shared Service Center environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality, timely, and compliant financial reporting across month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
The Analyst will work closely with local market finance teams, business stakeholders, and cross-functional SSC teams to deliver standardized, accurate, and efficient RTR services in alignment with global processes, internal controls, audit requirements, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Responsibilities
Operations
- Execute month-end close activities in accordance with standardized processes and global close timelines.
- Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger, intercompany activities, royalty accounting, accruals, amortization, and prepayments.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of open items.
- Conduct variance analysis and investigate unusual fluctuations or exceptions.
- Execute G/L open item clearing in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, accounting standards, and SSC policies.
- Prepare financial reports for corporate, statutory, and local requirements within agreed SLAs.
- Address and resolve queries from markets and internal stakeholders; elevate unresolved matters appropriately.
- Support new team members through process documentation, knowledge sharing, and on-the-job guidance.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
- Support internal, external, and statutory audits by providing schedules and documentation.
- Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Team Lead.
- Identify opportunities to enhance process efficiency, accuracy, and standardization across markets.
- Support automation, optimization, and best-practice initiatives within the RTR function.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the Shared Service Center.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
Skills
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience working in ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, or NetSuite.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, US GAAP, and SOX compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Audit experience is an advantage.
- Experience in a Shared Service Center or multinational environment is preferred.
