Job summary

A leading food company in Malaysia is seeking an experienced accountant to manage daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with company policies. Responsibilities include reviewing invoices, overseeing accounts payable, month-end closing processes, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate should have a diploma or degree in Finance/Accountancy and at least three years of experience in the field. Strong integrity and teamwork skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting data entries such as invoicing and payments.
• Ensure correct accounting records in the system.

• Handle month end closing processes and journal entries.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis.
• Participate in monthly stock takes.
• Prepare and submit Sales Tax Report on time.

Job description

Responsibilities

Responsible to review / handle daily accounting data entries such as invoicing, payment, collection and others done by accounts assistant.

Ensure the accounting records are captured correctly into the accounting system.

Manage accounts payable of the company. Checking payment voucher prepared by accounts assistant and ensure issuance of payment to suppliers is in accordance to the company’s policy.

Responsible on payment planning via bank account / bank facilities and liaise with suppliers on payment arrangement.

Responsible for month end closing process with posting of relevant journal entries.

Preparation of monthly management account with supporting of variance analysis.

Participate in monthly stock take process.

Responsible to prepare Sales Tax Report and ensure submission on time to local authority.

Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting process.

Liaise and communicate with external parties like auditor, company secretary, tax agent and others.

Supervise junior accounting staff on daily accounting works.

To undertake any other ad-hoc accounting tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Finance/ Accountancy.

At least three (3) years and above of working experiences in the related field is required for this position.

Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Able to work as a group effectively which always promote teamwork.

Knowledge in ERP system is value added.

Trustworthy with high degree of integrity.

Candidate with past working experience in audit industry and manufacturing industry will be value added to this application.
