A digital finance company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage full sets of accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a proficiency in digital asset accounting, and fluency in Mandarin to communicate effectively with clients. This role ensures accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliation of high-volume transactions, supporting the overall finance operations. The position is on-site, offering a structured work environment with standard hours.
Handle full sets of accounts, including AP, AR, GL, and monthly closing.
Perform bookkeeping, data entry, and ensure accuracy of all financial records.
Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and account analysis.
Conduct reconciliation of large volumes of digital and online transactions.
Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Monitor cash flow, fund movements, and assist in forecasting and budgeting.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies when required.
Support finance team on system enhancements and process improvements.
Ensure confidentiality and integrity of all financial information.
Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end closing.
Experience with digital asset accounting, valuation, and reconciliation.
Familiar with blockchain fundamentals, digital wallets, and digital transaction flows.
Understanding of FinTech operations such as e-wallets, payment platforms, and digital payment ecosystems.
Knowledge of AML/CFT, KYC, and financial regulatory requirements in digital finance.
Proficient in Excel and accounting systems (Xero, NetSuite, SAP).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage high-volume, multi-currency transactions.
Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to communicate financial insights clearly.
Must be able to speak, read, and write Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA), Bachelor’s Degree, or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant bookkeeping and accounting experience, preferably with exposure to SME accounting environments, financial services, or digital payments industry.
Experience managing high-volume, multi-currency financial transactions.
Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
Strong analytical thinking, accuracy, and problem-solving abilities.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills and a keen sense of responsibility.
