Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Malacca is seeking an experienced accountant to manage daily general accounting activities and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and have 3-5 years of experience, preferably in an accounting firm or MNC. Proficiency in communication and familiarity with SAP-ERP and MS Office is essential. This role involves preparing financial analyses, maintaining records, and collaborating with various departments.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/ Finance
  • Professional qualification (eg. ACCA/ CPA) is an added advantage
  • 3-5 years of working experience, preferably in an accounting firm and/ or MNC
  • Knowledge in Accounting Standard and Tax Regulations (Transfer Pricing and Witholding Tax) will be an added advantage
  • Excellent communication skills and proficient in both written and oral

  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Experience with systems and applications such as SAP-ERP, MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint), PowerBI, VBA, Macros is an added advantage

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing daily general accounting activities
  • Performing month-end closing activities and preparing analyses or commentaries for regional financial statement reviews
  • Preparing and maintaining records of all general ledger accounts and all monthly and quarterly journal entries necessary for monthly close; monthly account reconciliation and investigates reconciling items
  • Maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations (e.g., U.S. GAAP, SOX, internal controls, accounting policies and procedures and local regulations)
  • Leading and driving US and statutory accounting GAAP compliance, conversant in IFRS and US GAAP and the impacts to statutory accounting
  • Collaborating with other departments – HR/Marketing/Production/Procurement/Logistic
  • Collaborating with external parties – Company Secretary/Tax Agent/Auditor/IRB
  • Yearly Audit Schedule and Tax Computation preparation
  • Fixed Assets Register monitoring and recurring Fixed Asset Sighting Exercise
  • CAPEX proposal preparation for Head Quarter Approval
  • Product costing preparation and valuation review
  • Assist in yearly budget preparation
  • Participating and/or managing projects and company initiatives, process improvements and automation or ad hoc assignments
