Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Account Manager with experience in the retail industry and strong proficiency in AutoCount Accounting System. In this role, you will oversee financial operations across multiple retail outlets, including management reporting, statutory compliance, cash flow monitoring, and inventory control. You will lead and mentor the accounting team, drive process improvements, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

Job Scope
  • Review and analyse monthly and yearly management reports.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports to management and audit teams.
  • Oversee weekly/monthly sales reporting and provide insights to business units.
  • Track outlet productivity, sales trends, and promotion performance (roadshows, mall events).
Statutory Compliance
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of audited accounts and tax computations.
  • Oversee transfer pricing documentation and manage tax audits or investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with the Companies Act and regulations related to wellness and retail operations.
Financial Operations & Controls
  • Monitor cash flow and debtors; recommend actions for fund placements, drawdowns, etc.
  • Review payment collections from showrooms, online platforms, and roadshow events to ensure accuracy and proper reconciliation.
  • Oversee year‑end stock take for massage chairs, demo units, spare parts, and accessories; liaise with operations to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Implement financial controls tailored for retail operations, such as POS reconciliation, discount approvals, and stock loss management.
Team Management & Development
  • Lead, guide and mentor a team. Manage a group of local and overseas entities.
  • Allocate tasks, provide training, and monitor staff performance.
  • Cultivate teamwork and support staff development through coaching and recognition.
Process Improvement & AutoCount System
  • Drive improvements in accounting processes and ensure effective utilisation of the AutoCount system.
  • Identify opportunities to automate workflows for better accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness across all accounting modules in AutoCount.
Cost & Operational Management
  • Monitor and control retail operational costs (showroom utilities, delivery costs, demo unit maintenance, printing & consumables).
  • Analyse cost fluctuations for logistics, technician servicing costs, and spare parts usage.
  • Propose cost‑saving initiatives to improve outlet‑level profitability.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sales, Retail Operations, Customer Service, Technical/Service Teams, Logistics, and IT.
  • Support decision‑making related to pricing strategy, promotional campaigns, warranty claims, supplier negotiations, and stock allocation.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting / Finance or related professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA is an added advantage).
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the retail industry / multi‑outlet environment.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with AutoCount Accounting System is required.
  • Solid knowledge of full set of accounts, month‑end closing, financial reporting, and consolidation.
  • Experienced in handling sales reconciliation, stock/inventory accounting, and outlet‑level financial controls.
  • Strong understanding of statutory requirements including E‑Invoicing, SST, audit compliance, and corporate tax matters.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks, handle deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced retail environment.
