Job description

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Conducting regular account reconciliations and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, and ensuring timely payments and collections
• Providing administrative support to the accounting team, such as filing and document management
• Liaising with internal stakeholders to provide financial information and analysis as required
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations

What we're looking for

• A relevant accounting qualification, such as a degree in Accounting or a professional accounting certification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, or CPA)
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar assistant accountant or junior accountant role, preferably within the wholesale or distribution industry
• Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving
• Familiarity with Malaysian accounting standards and regulations
