Job summary
A leading electronics manufacturing company located in Tijuana is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee operations during the night shift. The ideal candidate will have a technical background, proven leadership in production environments, and the ability to enforce quality standards. Responsibilities include managing production, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and implementing Lean Manufacturing practices.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing (SMT, PTH, or Final Assembly).
- Understanding of ISO 13485 quality standards and IPC-A-610 / IPC-J-STD criteria.
- Availability to work night shift 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM under a 3x4 rotation schedule.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Production, Warehouse, Quality, and Maintenance operations during the second shift.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 quality standards.
- Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing practices.
Skills
Education
- Serve as the primary authority in the plant during the second shift, overseeing Production, Warehouse, Quality, and Maintenance operations; ensure disciplined execution of the production plan in SMT, PTH, and Final Assembly, achieving output, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Lead and coordinate operational staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and promoting a positive work environment.
- Ensure accurate production recording and material consumption in ERP and MES systems, including serial number tracking and routing adherence.
- Monitor and enforce ISO 13485 quality standards and apply IPC criteria for electronic assemblies.
- Oversee and support Warehouse operations (material receipt, staging, and returns) and Quality activities (in-process inspections, release approvals).
- Coordinate and escalate Maintenance issues to minimize equipment downtime.
- Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing practices such as 5S, Standard Work, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Track and report shift performance metrics, including production output, scrap, rework, quality incidents, and downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations throughout the shift.
- Technical or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing (SMT, PTH, or Final Assembly).
- Knowledge of ERP and MES systems, with practical experience in production and material tracking.
- Understanding of ISO 13485 quality standards and IPC-A-610 / IPC-J-STD criteria.
- Proven leadership experience managing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of Warehouse, Quality, and Maintenance functions (preferred).
- Availability to work night shift 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM under a 3x4 rotation schedule.
