A global manufacturing firm located in Tijuana is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their centralized accounting function. You will manage cost accounting for manufacturing sites, ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy of inventory standards. The position requires at least 3-5 years of experience in finance roles with extensive knowledge of cost accounting and ERP systems. Strong communication skills are essential as you will collaborate with various teams to resolve complex issues. Travel is required 15% of the time.

Formación

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as part of Integer’s centralized cost accounting function providing technical accounting expertise, guidance, and leadership within the team. Cost Accountants have direct responsibility for global manufacturing sites, in addition to managing global accounting processes. Deliverables include analytical review of standards, SOX environment compliance, inventory and reserve analysis, production variances, account maintenance and reconciliation and precious metals maintenance and reconciliation.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Integer’s Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Perform all Cost Accounting functions for the cost accounting group with a global emphasis with guidance from the Senior Cost Accounting Manager.
  • Responsible for maintenance and accuracy of inventory standards, actual quantities, inventory account balances, and reserve reviews.
  • Ensure proper GAAP Accounting for Purchase Price Variance. Coordinate and ensure that all significant production variances are properly analyzed and accounted for.
  • Provide technical accounting expertise, guidance, and leadership within the global cost accounting team.
  • Manage the preparation of and approve monthly closing entries and cost data schedules supporting the monthly operating statement.
  • Serve as a partner with manufacturing sites to analyze, understand, communicate, and quickly resolve issues.
  • Update schedules and develop cost factors for quarterly review of labor and overhead rates.
  • Review gross profits for trends and/or costing problems.
  • Responsible for creating all cost accounting periodic reports, as well as Key Indicators/Business Success Factor reports and other analytical reports.
  • Provide reports, schedules and other documents as required for external auditor’s year-end inventory observation and other audit procedures.
  • Ensure the completion of monthly close procedures related to all elements of gross margin and inventory are completed timely.
  • Demonstrate creation of a group environment of continuous improvement and achievement of best practices for cost accounting procedures.
  • Support SOX compliances and ensure compliance with established internal controls.
  • Support Salem quarterly physical inventory.
  • Precious Metals reporting and analysis. Being engaged with Refine process and keep track of Refine shipments and settlements, reporting results timely.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Traveling is required 15% of the time.
Job Requirements

Minimum Education: BS Accounting or Finance. MBA/CPA preferred.

Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of experience in accounting and/or finance roles, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in cost accounting, preferably in a multi factory environment.

Specialized Knowledge: Extensive Cost Accounting knowledge, reporting and analysis in a manufacturing company. Experience with ERP systems is required as well as deep knowledge of MS Excel. Public accounting experience, Lean accounting, Oracle and Precious Metals experience are preferred.

Special Skills: Excellent communication in English and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work with people at different organizational levels, including Senior Management. Strong technical background with the ability to analyze, understand and collaborate with teams to solve complex problems.
