The ACE team builds solutions and services for millions of consumers, merchants and drivers in Southeast Asia. You will be reporting to Senior Software Engineering Manager. ACE team's constant innovation has made us the most loved delivery platform in the region. At Grab we operate with an experimental mindset where the customer decides what they like and don't like. The team is very keen on receiving this feedback which then allows them to design the best features.

Get to Know the Role

Joining the team gives you the opportunity to collaborate with top engineers in the region and make a meaningful impact, with your work reaching millions of customers. You'll work on scalable services that handle tens of millions of orders daily, each built with fail-safes to ensure seamless operations for our customers.

This role is onsite based in our Petaling Jaya, Malaysia office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will work with the product and design team to understand requirements, provide product feedback, own and implement the product from start to finish.
• You will drive and participate in technical discussions with other engineering teams.
• You will write code that is reusable, scalable and testable. Make sure products are delivered on time and with high quality.
• You will collaborate with QAs to make sure all product requirements are met and the deployments are stable.
• You will review code from other team members, provide constructive feedback and aim to raise the engineering bar.
• You will improve the codebase. Propose and set better engineering solutions for the team.
• You will be responsible and responsive during on-call duty. Debug and troubleshoot production issues.
• You will provide technical guidance, mentorship and knowledge sharing to peers.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You need to have solid software engineering and coding skills. Specifically, we're looking for someone with at 4+ years of experience in a backend development and willing to work on Golang.
• You have a good Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• You have experience in databases SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc.
• You have knowledge of cloud technologies and experience developing and deploying services on the cloud.
