Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager with a strong network and relationships in the coal mining and minerals industry, along with excellent interpersonal skills, to support the rapid sales growth of our material handling business in Indonesia.

A key responsibility of this role is developing new and expanded business opportunities, excellence in problem solving and technical sales in the region, to exceed the sales plans through effective client and team partnerships.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated self-starter, entrepreneurial in nature and have a strong drive to succeed, with relevant experience and industry contacts in the coal mining and mineral market.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, problem solve, pursue, and secure new and expanded business opportunities within the coal mining and minerals industry in Indonesia.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through consultative and value-based selling.
  • Lead and manage all sales activities within the coal mining and minerals industry segment to achieve revenue targets.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to communicate technical details and project objectives.
  • Support customer service and project delivery functions to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical sales within the coal mining and minerals industry
  • Experience developing and managing sales budgets, greater than $10,000Mil. IDR.
  • Experience in generating complex technical sales proposals for capital equipment.
  • Superior in the English language, with strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build rapport and credibility across multiple stakeholders. (Indonesia & Australia)
  • Established network and client relationships in the Indonesian mining and mineral sector.
  • Engineering background or equivalent technical or service experience within the coal mining and minerals industry.
  • Proven success in creating and executing sales strategies that generate strong growth.
  • Superior in Microsoft Office, Internet Tools, and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, an entrepreneurial nature, with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with effective negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills; able to manage multiple priorities and clients simultaneously.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, including extended visits to client sites.
  • A solid understanding of engineering and technical principles is required along with the ability to effectively communicate details and objectives within project teams, sub-contractors and clients.
