Role Purpose: The incumbent of this role is the face of the Company to the customers. Primary responsibility of this incumbent will be to manage and develop a portfolio of vendors to maximize revenue and margin for Coats.
Responsibilities
- Role includes managing and developing a portfolio of vendors to maximize revenue and margin for Coats; retaining relationships with vendors and growing SOW by selling the full portfolio of Coats products and services aligned to the needs of the vendors.
- Gather market intelligence regarding demand trends and applying this to the demand forecasting process to ensure we can meet customer requirements for product supply whilst optimizing stock levels and working capital.
- Acquire new sales with vendors not currently supplied by Coats through Prospecting and Digital selling; identify opportunities and secure profitable new business.
- This is a dedicated customer management role to sales with no direct people management, but collaboration with multi-functional colleagues to drive the customer agenda.
- Provide day to day service to customers and engage prospects: help customers pick the right thread for the right garment, assist with colour matching, lead price negotiations and conduct regular follow up on collections; maintain regular contact virtually and face-to-face as appropriate; provide training and support to customers and promote digital portals for order placement; liaise with customer service and logistics to ensure on-time delivery; update CRM (Dynamics CSX) daily; deliver collection achievement vs. target and manage DSO; liaise with credit control to collect payment on time.
- Develop and establish contacts with potential prospects using digital and direct communication channels.
- Support Sales Planning, Forecasting and Projection: contribute to demand planning process and improve forecast accuracy; conduct monthly rolling forecast reviews for raw materials/finished goods stock.
- Promote New Products/Global Services/Digital Marketing: coordinate with Marketing/Supply Chain for NPD launches locally; work with Technical team to promote technical services to existing customers and upsell; collaborate with TS team to promote and upgrade product; build relationships using digital channels with marketing.
- Actively use CSX Dynamics to manage and report all new business opportunities as they progress through the purchase process; provide market intelligence and support to Global Accounts team to secure new specification opportunities from new brands.
Qualifications
- University/college graduate in any commercial discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in B2B sales, ideally within the footwear, apparel, or manufacturing sectors.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with footwear supply chains, industry dynamics, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to speak Mandarin is highly desirable.
- Experience working with buying offices, agents, and factories in the footwear or apparel industry is highly desirable.
- Exposure to regional or global sales initiatives and teams.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and digital sales platforms.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with fluency in English.
- Analytical Thinking: Proficient in forecasting, market analysis, and using data to drive decisions.
- Willing to work under pressure, self-motivated, mature and ambitious.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work flexibly with colleagues to achieve team objectives.
- Confidence in presenting in front of groups of people.
- Ability to manage and prioritize own workload.
