A manufacturing company in Indonesia is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to develop purchasing strategies, manage local and international suppliers, and oversee procurement documentation. The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of experience in procurement within manufacturing, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency in ERP systems. This role involves coordinating with various internal teams to ensure timely material availability while maintaining cost efficiency.
Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure cost efficiency and timely procurement.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
Manage supplier performance, including periodic evaluations, quality checks, and delivery reliability.
Coordinate closely with Production, Planning, Finance, and Warehouse teams to align purchasing activities with operational needs.
Monitor and control purchasing budgets, cost‑saving initiatives, and pricing trends.
Oversee procurement documentation, contracts, purchase orders, and compliance with company policies.
Maintain accurate purchasing data and workflows in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar).
Manage international procurement processes, especially for suppliers from China and ASEAN countries.
Ensure on‑time material availability while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Lead, train, and supervise the purchasing team to achieve departmental targets.
Resolve supplier issues concerning delivery delays, quality non-conformance, or contract disputes.
Prepare regular procurement reports including cost analysis, supplier performance, and purchasing KPIs.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
5–8+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations (preferably within manufacturing industries).
Strong knowledge of vendor sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
Proven experience managing international suppliers, particularly from China and ASEAN countries.
Ability to evaluate supplier performance, control costs, and ensure on‑time delivery.
Solid understanding of procurement processes, pricing analysis, lead time planning, and cost-saving initiatives.
Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities; capable of managing vendor relationships and coordinating with internal teams.
Good written and spoken English; Mandarin speaking abilityispreferred.
High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
