With 34 active member organizations, KEM has united stakeholders with a shared vision encompassing commitments to sustainability: 100 jurisdictions with dedicated policies and planning in sustainability, 100+ businesses operating with sustainable practices and connected to sustainable supply chain, and unlocking transactions, investments, or financing totaling 200 million USD. This interconnected framework highlights KEM’s aspiration to channel funding into sustainable businesses situated within jurisdictions committed to fostering environmental and social responsibility.

KEM Secretariat is currently seeking a Finance & Grant Assistant to support the Finance and Grant Officer in managing financial transactions, and providing oversight for subgrantee financial processes. This role involves collaboration in budget preparation, financial reporting, tax compliance, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Finance & Grant Assistant will play a key role in helping financial integrity and ensuring that KEM’s financial activities align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements, supporting the organization's objective of building a robust foundation for strong governance. S/he will report to the Finance and Grant Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management

  • Assist the finance team in processing financial transactions, including payments, advances, and receipts.
  • Support with bank reconciliations, cash management, and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Support budget preparation and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with approved budget and financial policies.
  • Ensure accurate financial data is recorded in KEM’s accounting software and manage the financial database.
  • Learn and apply the proper implementation of organization’s SOP.

Subgrant Financial Support

  • Assist in the pre-disbursement process, ensuring financial requirements, compliance checks, and documentation are completed before releasing funds to subgrantees.
  • Monitor the financial activities of subgrantees alongside the Finance and Grant Officer, ensuring they are compliant with donor regulations and KEM's financial policies throughout the grant period.
  • Support subgrantees in preparing financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to donor reporting requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring all financial records and reports from subgrantees are complete and accurate, and help close the grant cycle in compliance with audit requirements.

Compliance and Audit

  • Ensure KEM’s compliance with financial and accounting regulations, donor agreements, and Indonesian law.
  • Assist in preparing for external audits and maintaining proper documentation.

General Accounting and Reporting

  • Manage procurement-related financial documentation, including verifying invoices and processing vendor payments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and databases.
  • Assist in financial documentation and archiving.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with accounting software, budget management, financial reporting, and tax filing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Indonesian financial regulations and donor compliance.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, grant management, budgeting, and cash management.
  • Familiarity with donor-funded project management and compliance is a plus.
  • Willing to learn about the sustainable development context.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality outputs on time.
  • Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent database and archiving skills.
