A respected, family-owned engineering business in Leeds is looking for an experienced Electrical Testing Engineer to join its high-performing Operations team. This is a role where your technical expertise directly supports the development of advanced equipment that cuts carbon, reduces energy waste, and helps customers across the UK and beyond modernise their electrical infrastructure.
Reporting to the Senior Testing Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of electrical power products — both in-house and on customer sites. Key responsibilities include:
- In‑house testing of transformers, marshalling enclosures and control panels
- Testing LV cabinets and control devices
- Carrying out protection modifications
- Fault‑finding and problem‑solving to a high technical standard
- Supporting the delivery of high‑quality, safe and compliant products
- Proven experience testing
- Electrical qualifications and strong knowledge of electrical regulations (essential)
- Ability to confidently read and interpret electrical schematic drawings
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and Risk Assessment practices
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Experience in continuous improvement or lean environments (advantageous)
- Methodical, detail‑focused and able to work to high technical standards
- Flexible approach with the willingness to support other departments when needed
