The Financial Counselor (Customer Services Representative) supports the reduction of Accounts Receivables in the Patient Financial Services department. Responsibilities include assisting patients with their bills, handling correspondence, billing and re-billing, addressing denial issues, managing Accounts Receivable credits, and monitoring trends. Under limited supervision, the role involves determining liability on patient accounts, working with patients or their representatives to provide financial assistance or secure payment, and facilitating Medicaid and other financial assistance applications, including eligibility determinations for the charity care fund.

• Support collection efforts to maximize balances due and account resolution, meeting quality and productivity expectations.
• Facilitate account resolution by identifying and correcting billing errors, addressing denials, and ensuring efficient resolution based on priority.
• Research and resolve issues causing delays in payment or account resolution, and suggest improvements in collection activities.
• Collaborate across teams and departments to ensure effective revenue cycle management.

• High school diploma
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred (please indicate on application/resume)
• 1-2 years of experience in healthcare insurance billing or account follow-up
• Strong knowledge of Patient Accounting systems
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work in a team environment with quick turnaround and high-quality output

• Experience with Medicaid and Charity Care

• Full-time
• Rotating schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm or 8:00am-4:00pm; Tuesday-Saturday 10:30am-6:30pm (schedule may vary based on business needs)
• Rotating holidays required
