We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced medical leader with a track record in consistently delivering clinical effectiveness and patient safety to join our Board of Directors as Joint Chief Medical Officer. This is a pivotal role to our future success as we push to improve the care and services for the communities that we serve and the ideal candidate will provide inspirational leadership, with strong values that match ours and role model an unwavering drive to deliver the strategic ambition of the Trust as an anchor organisation in healthcare for Manchester, Trafford and beyond.
We are looking for an individual with significant recent clinical and leadership experience, ideally gained within a large complex Teaching Trust who is able to demonstrate the ability to deliver clinical effectiveness and ongoing improvements to patient safety. Effective teamwork will ideally be central to the successful delivery of our Organisational Strategy, with a style and approach which is consistent with our values.
Main duties of the jobAs a key member of the Executive team, you will provide strategic and operational advice to the Trust Chief Executive and the Board of Directors and be expected to deliver on a range of clinical / patient safety and related objectives. You will provide highly visible leadership to the medical and dental workforce across all Trust sites, engaging and empowering them to achieve excellence in the delivery of patient care.
Our Joint Chief Medical Officers lead a wide-ranging portfolio with diverse responsibilities across key areas including, but not limited to, clinical governance and patient safety, appraisal and revalidation and professional matters, research and innovation, medical education and medical workforce.
Innovative and creative in your thinking, you will make decisions that encourage new ways of working to develop a culture of improvement, contributing to the development and implementation of the internal clinical service redesign, ensuring the Trust remains at the forefront of service delivery and clinical service innovation in line with any potential changes to the external environment.
