A local educational institution in Cheshire is seeking a dedicated Site Manager to oversee school facilities and Health & Safety management. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of health and safety, excellent numeracy and literacy skills, and experience in maintenance tasks. This role involves overseeing a variety of responsibilities, including building maintenance, risk assessments, and collaborating with contractors to ensure a safe school environment. Underwood West Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable professional to the role of Site Manager to manage our buildings, facilities and Health & Safety.
The Site Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school in terms of timely maintenance and repairs of the buildings and grounds in conjunction with site improvements. They will assist the Vice Principal with Health & Safety management across the school and therefore a relevant Health and Safety qualification or training is desirable. The successful applicant will have a good level of numeracy and literacy and ideally experience of report writing and inspections/ checks. These are all done digitally in school and so a good level of knowledge of Microsoft Office is desirable.
Key duties include being a key-holder, completing and updating risk assessments, checking fire alarm points, monitoring water temperatures, checking equipment, snow clearance and gritting in bad weather, general maintenance jobs around the school and other duties as required.
The successful applicant will also be expected to carry out to a high standard simple plumbing repairs, simple joinery repair of equipment, decorating and some grounds maintenance. Experience in a similar role would be advantageous.

Hours and working weeks are negotiable but will include opening school at 6am.
