Job summary
A recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Planning Officer for a local authority in London on a 3-month rolling contract. The ideal candidate will manage planning applications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies. Candidates are required to have a degree in Town Planning and RTPI membership, alongside strong communication and negotiation skills. Flexible work arrangements are offered, with a competitive pay rate of £45 per hour depending on experience.
Qualifications
- Experience as a development management case officer in a local authority or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of relevant planning legislation and policies.
- Ability to manage caseloads and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of planning applications including complex and minor applications.
- Oversee a backlog of planning applications within statutory timeframes.
- Advise on a variety of planning applications in a team environment.
