A local government authority in Birmingham seeks a Resilience & Emergency Planning Officer to prepare and maintain emergency plans, assist in business continuity, and support a 24/7 emergency response. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills along with a related qualification and experience in emergency planning. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team committed to safeguarding the community. Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review
Working 36.5 hours per week (must be willing to work non-standard hours and participate in out of hours duty rota)
This post is within the Resilience & Operations team, within the Community Safety, Resilience & Prevent division. The purpose of this role is to support the Councils remit under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and other relevant legislation.
Qualification: Diploma (or equivalent) in emergency planning, business continuity or related field and three years’ experience of working in an emergency planning environment OR a Degree in crisis management or a related discipline and two years’ experience of working in an emergency planning environment.
