The Commissioning Support Technician is responsible for carrying out a wide range of commissioning activities, including functional testing from wiring verification (continuity, insulation, and voltage tests) to the static and dynamic commissioning of complete rail vehicles. Accurate logging of all test and measurement results is essential. The technician will prepare and accompany test runs both on-site and on the public rail network to support design validation and vehicle approval. Operational support includes troubleshooting and warranty implementation at customer sites to ensure high vehicle availability. The role also supports condition monitoring systems and manual inspections, software uploads and updates across subsystems, and ensures configuration control is maintained. The technician will respond to technical queries from colleagues and clients, provide feedback on incidents, and mentor team members to promote knowledge sharing. Risk identification and mitigation within the scope of work is expected, alongside producing high-quality reports in maintenance systems and general documentation.
