A healthcare recruitment agency is seeking a full-time Support Worker to join a 9-bed service in Newark. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with complex needs, specifically those with acquired brain injuries. Responsibilities include providing consistent and trauma-informed care. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, with shifts covering Monday to Sunday.
We are currently recruiting for a temporary-to-permanent Support Worker to join a 9-bed service in Newark.
The role is full-time, covering 37.5 hours per week on a day rota.
This service supports individuals with complex needs, including one service user with an acquired brain injury (ABI) who requires specialist care. The successful candidate will initially be placed on a 13-week temporary contract, after which they will transfer to Eden on a permanent basis with no transfer fee, in line with our Service Level Agreement.
As part of the clinical care plan for the service user with an ABI, it has been professionally assessed that they require consistency and familiarity in communication, especially regarding language, accent, and cultural context, due to significant cognitive and psychological challenges. These factors are well-documented and form part of the behaviour support strategy developed to reduce distress and ensure safe, effective engagement.
In line with the Equality Act 2010, we are not applying discriminatory criteria. However, we are looking for staff who are able to work in a trauma-informed and person‑centred way, showing particular sensitivity to the service user's unique communication and behavioural needs.
We would therefore appreciate candidates who:
This request is based on clinical recommendations, not personal preference, and has been reviewed under safeguarding and risk management protocols.
