Job Vacancy: Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Alfreton
Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Salary: £27,000 per annum

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee and manage all warehouse operations at our Alfreton site. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of goods in, goods out, and internal storage, while meeting cost, quality, time, and efficiency targets.

• Manage all warehouse activities including the safe off-loading, storage, and handling of incoming materials
• Oversee the timely and accurate dispatch of finished products, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and delivery documentation
• Keep up-to-date with transportation regulations and implement changes as required
• Plan and organise work schedules using ERP and other systems to manage workflow and maintain accurate records
• Efficiently manage stock storage, stock counts, and minimise waste and write-offs
• Monitor and control external storage needs to minimise additional costs
• Ensure machinery and equipment are regularly maintained and fit for purpose
• Lead, train, and develop the warehouse team, providing necessary induction and ongoing support
• Conduct coaching, mentoring, appraisals, and performance management for team members
• Liaise effectively with all company departments regarding warehouse matters
• Make recommendations to management based on observations and experience to support continuous improvement
• Proactively resolve issues that could cause delays, collaborating with other departments as needed
• Maintain a strong focus on health & safety and environmental standards, reporting concerns to the Operations Manager

• GCSE level education (including English and Maths) or equivalent
• Strong understanding of stock management and best practices
• Knowledge of health & safety and environmental regulations relevant to the role
• Experience leading and managing teams in a warehouse or similar environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experienced with ERP or stock management systems
• Ability to work under pressure, meet targets, and solve problems effectively
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Flexible, adaptable, and a motivated team player with a positive 'can do' attitude
