CNC Programmer Operator
Job summary
A leading recruitment agency in Birmingham is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Operator to join their shop-floor team. In this hands-on role, you will program, set, and operate CNC machinery while collaborating with engineers to ensure high-quality production. Ideal candidates will have proven CNC programming experience, strong communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. The position offers a competitive salary and various benefits, including an early Friday finish and overtime opportunities.

Hours :
Monday–Thursday : 07 : 00–16 : 00
Friday : 07 : 00–13 : 00
Benefits : Early Friday finish, overtime available, 28 days holiday per year
We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Programmer / Operator to join our Birmingham-based team (Hockley). This is a hands-on, shop-floor role supporting our machining operations to ensure high-quality output and efficient production.

While Hypermill experience is an advantage, we welcome applicants with a solid CNC programming background who are willing to learn new systems.
A collaborative mindset is essential, we’re looking for a genuine team player, not a maverick.
- Program, set, and operate CNC machinery to meet production requirements
- Interpret and work from technical drawings and 3D models
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimise machining strategies
- Perform tooling setup, machine adjustments, and first-off inspections
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and safety
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across machining processes
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer / Operator
- Hypermill experience preferred but not essential
- Must live within the Birmingham area or have a reasonable daily commute to Hockley
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues
