NES Technology Service (NTS) has created a strategic programme for the transformation of digital based services to allow NES to become a leading digital organisation in Scottish Health, digital by default and fully aligned with the Scottish Government’s technology strategies.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced, skilled and motivated Data Protection Officer (DPO) to join our data protection team within NTS Data and Assurance. Providing a practical and pragmatic approach to ensure data protection compliance across the organisation.

Working within the NTS Information Governance and Assurance Team you will provide expert data protection knowledge and experience, to drive and influence data protection compliance across all NES directorates.

A highly experienced Data Protection Officer who can offer a broad range of skills and experience, if you can offer some or all of these, we’d love you to apply:

• Strong knowledge and understanding of data privacy and data protection regulations and the impact of this on the Scottish Health and Care sector.
• Proven experience of data protection compliance operating at a senior level within a large/complex organisation.
• Ability to work unsupervised, exercise leadership, and influence change.
• Proven experience in working proactively across multiple directorates and services to provide specialist advice and guidance to senior management to address areas of data protection risk and comply with data protection legislation.
• Strong motivational and influencing skills to achieve desired outcomes and results through collaboration.
• Ability to be diligent, with strong attention to detail and committed to delivering high quality outputs.
• Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
• Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workloads, to meet strict deadlines
