About Us
At Energy Systems Catapult, we're on a mission to accelerate the UK’s journey to Net Zero. We are independent, not-for-profit, and we connect industry, government, academia, and research to unlock the full potential of clean energy innovation.
Based in the vibrant heart of Birmingham, our 300-strong team works across electricity, heat, transport, industry, infrastructure, and consumers - taking a whole systems approach to decarbonising the UK’s energy landscape.
We champion innovation, empower businesses of all sizes, and strive for a fair, inclusive energy transition where everyone can participate and benefit, regardless of income or access to digital technology.
Our MarComms practice provides a dependable, creative, and high-quality solution to the wider organisation, leading with a smile, thriving on collaboration, and delivering smart, outcome-focused marketing and communications that cut through complexity.
The MarComms team is a consultative partner who helps the wider business shine by coaching and empowering teams to get the best from their research, projects, and much more…
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Communications Officer with a strong passion for energy and clean tech, ideally someone who’s already worked in or around the energy sector.
You’ll be the driving force behind transforming complex, technical insights into clear, engaging stories that inspire and inform diverse audiences, from industry peers to mainstream media.
You’ll bring a mix of creativity, strategic thinking, and excellent media relationships, helping to grow our profile and influence across the sector and beyond.
Crucially, we want someone who fits our culture: positive, flexible, collaborative, and open to trying new things - someone who’s ambitious and curious but also knows how to keep things light and supportive. A helpful and engaged team player who is as invested in those around as they are in driving forward their personal successes.
What you’ll do
Who you are
This is your chance to be part of a forward-thinking, purpose-driven organisation that’s shaping the future of UK energy.
You’ll join a MarComms team that values collaboration, creativity, and fun - where your voice is heard, your contributions matter, and your work helps transform a vital component of our everyday lives for the better.
