We are a specialist Secondary SEN School based in L16, Liverpool, providing education for pupils aged 11–16 with a wide range of complex learning needs. Many of our students are working at a primary-level ability, and benefit from a highly structured, nurturing, and individualised approach to learning.

The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Officer to join our team on a full-time basis from September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with significant learning difficulties, communication needs, and other complex challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support in the classroom.
Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated and accessible learning activities.
Support students’ emotional, social, and physical development throughout the school day.
Promote communication, engagement, and independence using structured support systems.
Contribute to the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
Requirements:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs – ideally in a school or educational setting.
A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with vulnerable learners.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
A good understanding of how to support children working at lower ability levels.
Knowledge of communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton) or behaviour strategies (e.g., Team Teach) is desirable but not essential.
