Qualifications

  • Qualified Wellbeing Practitioner (WP CYP IAPT) – no other qualification acceptable.
  • Experience working with children, young people, and families who experience mental health difficulties, especially depression and anxiety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for working within an inclusive, value-driven service.
  • Ability to facilitate group work – training will be offered if you have no previous experience.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a car – the role involves travelling across rural Dorset.

  • Provide high-quality, brief evidence-based treatment interventions for children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
  • Deliver individual and group work, including assessment, brief interventions, and follow-up.
  • Use outcome measures to inform clinical decisions and service improvement.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and support the transformation plan.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with IAPT and NHS standards.

Overview

Dorset Healthcare University Foundation Trust invites applications for two full‑time Wellbeing Practitioner (WP CYP IAPT) positions within our CAMHS Gateway team. The role delivers low‑intensity Cognitive Behavioural interventions for children and young people across Dorset through a mix of online and face‑to‑face sessions. The successful candidate will receive line management, caseload management and clinical supervision as part of Band 5 Wellbeing Practitioner support.
