Job summary
A leading global manufacturing company based in Wantage is seeking an experienced Payroll Assistant for a 3-month contract to support their busy Shared Service team. The role involves processing payroll for around 500 employees, handling Tax and NIC calculations, and managing pension administration. Candidates should have a strong background in end-to-end payroll, a solid understanding of UK Tax and NIC, and be confident using Excel. This position offers a chance to work in a friendly and professional payroll team.

Responsibilities
- Process and check monthly payrolls for around 500 employees.
- Handle Tax, NIC, and pension calculations.
- Manage statutory payments and pension administration.
- Support payroll finance tasks including journals and reconciliations.

They're looking for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join them on a 3-month contract during a peak period - perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on payroll environment.
- Processing and checking monthly payrolls for around 500 employees across four UK sites
- Handling Tax, NIC, and pension calculations
- Managing statutory payments and pension administration
- Supporting payroll finance tasks including journals, reconciliations, and control accounts
- Strong background in end-to-end, high-volume payroll (multi-site experience a plus)
- Solid understanding of UK Tax, NIC, and pension auto-enrolment
- Confident with Excel and Microsoft Office
- Detail-driven, accurate, and great with numbers
- A proactive team player who can hit the ground running
