This is a Senior Care Assistant role at Avery Healthcare, a leading provider of luxury elderly care homes in the UK. Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, creating a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff. Other responsibilities will include monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being involved in the person-centred care planning process, supporting residents with their medication requirements, and undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development.

• Monitor the wellbeing of each resident, be aware of changes impacting care and care plans, ensure that new needs are met, and amend written records to reflect any variation.
• Be involved in the person-centred care planning process by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Support residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertake staff supervisions and support staff with their development where required.
• Act as a key point of contact with residents, relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are escalated.

Our ideal candidate must:

• Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• Have 2 years experience working in a similar care environment.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Have a positive attitude to both supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

About the role:

• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff development where required.
• Acting as a key contact with residents, relatives and visitors, and with health and social care professionals, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints escalated.

Qualifications: NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes; 2 years experience in a similar care environment; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; positive attitude toward supporting and nurturing residents and staff; ability to be responsive and flexible.
