Job description
Join Our Team as a Support Worker in Bromsgrove!

Location: Bromsgrove, B61 (Just a 3min drive from The Princess of Wales Community Hospital)
Pay Rate: £12.64 per hour (+ £50 per Sleep-In Shift)
Position: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Requirements: Full UK Manual Driving Licence

Are you sociable, reliable, and compassionate? Do you enjoy building strong relationships and supporting people to live their best lives? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

Who Will You Be Supporting?

You’ll be working with a dedicated and friendly team, supporting four wonderful individuals (two men and two women) aged 40s‑70s. They live with learning disabilities, autism, and some mental health needs. Each resident is unique, and they love leading fun, fulfilling lives.

  • Active & Social: They enjoy watching movies (with a collection of thousands of DVDs!), listening to music, and spending time together in and out of the house. They also love going shopping, getting their nails done at the salon, and taking holidays to Blackpool and other parts of the UK.
  • Mobility Support: One lady is a full‑time wheelchair user and requires hoisting support. The other lady and one gentleman use wheelchairs when out in the community but are more independent at home.

Family is very important to the residents, and building strong relationships with their loved ones is a key part of this role.

What Will You Be Doing?

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Empowering Independence: Help residents live their lives the way they choose—whether it’s making decisions about meals, shopping trips, or choosing a movie for the evening.
  • Daily Living Support: Assist with personal care for one lady and occasional support for the others, along with meal preparation, medication administration, and general housekeeping.
  • Mobility Assistance: Provide hoisting for one resident and support with wheelchair use for two others when out and about.
  • Engagement in Activities: Join them for their favourite activities—whether that’s a movie marathon, a music session, or a shopping trip. Encouraging them to stay active and engaged is key.
  • Building Relationships: Foster strong connections with the residents and their families, ensuring that everyone feels supported and valued.
Shift Patterns
  • Sleep-In Shifts: 11pm - 6am (paid to sleep)
  • Day Shifts: 8am - 3:30pm / 1pm - 9pm
  • Flexible Shifts: Some shifts carry over from sleep‑ins, ensuring variety and balance.

Rotas are provided in advance to support a healthy work‑life balance.

Why Choose Dimensions?
  • Award-Winning Workplace: Recognised as one of the UK's best workplaces in the 'super large' category by the Great Place to Work Institute six years in a row.
  • Generous Leave: 30 days of annual leave pro rata with the option to buy and sell leave.
  • Career Development: Access to paid training and opportunities to further develop your career through funded accredited courses.
  • Well‑Being Focus: Benefit from our comprehensive well‑being strategy and staff listening network.
  • Values-Driven: Join a team that puts people with learning disabilities and their families at the heart of everything we do.
  • Referral Bonus: Receive a £200 bonus if you refer a friend and they are successfully employed.
  • Additional Perks: Enjoy the Bike to Work scheme and discounts on meals, shopping, entertainment, and gym memberships.
Other Important Information
  • Immediate Reviews: Applications are reviewed upon receipt, and interviews will continue until positions are filled.
  • Equality Commitment: Gender is considered a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 where mentioned.
  • DBS Disclosure: An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be covered by Dimensions.
  • Inclusive Workforce: We welcome applications from everyone with the right to work in the UK and value diversity in our workforce.
  • Disability Confident: We guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.
