Job description

We’re looking for a part-time Venue Manager to join our talented team at Phonox.

Phonox joined London’s clubbing scene in September 2015. The renowned South London venue hosts world‑class DJs in a world‑class environment and is powered by Funktion‑One sound system. Phonox expertly showcases the best in house, techno, disco, drum & bass and electronica.

This role is up to £17phr, working 30‑35 hours per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overseeing all aspects of Phonox’s daily operations, ensuring smooth service and an exceptional guest experience. Leading and developing a professional, customer‑focused team through effective recruitment, training, and coaching.
• Creating and maintaining a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for guests and staff.
• Managing staff scheduling, stock control and venue presentation to uphold the highest operational standards. Supporting and executing sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue and achieve financial targets.
• Monitoring budgets, controlling costs and analysing performance to maximise profitability.
• Working closely with our programming, marketing and senior management teams to deliver standout club nights and events.

• Proven experience in a managerial role within hospitality or nightlife, ideally in electronic music venues.
• A strong understanding and genuine passion for the London electronic music scene.
• Exceptional leadership, communication and people‑management skills.
• The ability to stay calm and organised in a fast‑paced, late‑night environment.
