We currently have a permanent vacancy for a Band 6 registered Charge nurse available in Ward 2, Crieff Community Hospital.
Crieff Community Hospital inpatient unit delivers care to the residents of South Perthshire and Kinross Locality. Ward 2 is an 18 bedded unit providing rehabilitation, step down and palliative care for the communities of Crieff, Comrie and the surrounding areas.
We are looking for an individual with a passion for frailty, committed to the delivery of high quality, safe and effective person-centred care. The ward provides medical care, rehabilitation and palliative care to inpatients, as well as accommodating the occasional day-case patient.
You will be required to support the Senior Charge Nurse in maintaining high standards of patient care, taking forward service improvements, coordinating the continuing education and development of staff, and to cover in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse. You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be committed to further your own professional development within the role.
The role of a Charge Nurse in a community hospital is diverse and allows nurses to develop experience in many aspects of patient care and multidisciplinary team working. Within the Community Hospital setting there is sufficient dedicated resource to ensure we can plan and deliver high quality person centered care alongside a highly experienced, dynamic and committed team that takes pride in the quality of the care we provide to maintain or improve lives.
As an integral part of the team this post will allow the registrant to work alongside and gain knowledge in social care provision, working in partnership with the integrated health and social care team, families and carers which promotes a holistic approach that provides inclusive care for patients in a sub acute setting.
There will be opportunities to work across both hospital inpatient units as service need requires and as health and social care integration embeds there may be opportunities to work flexibly within and across inpatient and community nursing teams testing and developing new models of care e.g. Community Care and treatment services, community nursing, minor illness/injury units and integrated care teams.
You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register
