A community health services provider in Birmingham is seeking a Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant to support qualified staff and manage patient care in a dynamic outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess relevant healthcare qualifications and experience within musculoskeletal services. This role includes responsibilities for patient assessments, assisting with clinic organization, and supervising Band 3 Assistants, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to community health and well-being.
The Assistant role provides support to qualified staff in an outpatient setting, in addition to other health care related tasks and administration duties. The role works clinically under the supervision of Physiotherapists for all aspects of patient care and treatment. You will be expected to work in class settings, work with clients on a one to one basis including assessing for and providing walking aids and exercise provision, support the clinicians in clinic and be a fully flexible member of the MSK Assistant pool. The post holder would have supervisory responsibilities for the Band 3 Assistants and be involved in stock ordering and control.

All non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Bands 7 - 9) that meet the prescribed skill level (RQF 6) and salary threshold will be eligible for sponsorship. An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and suitably experienced Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant to join the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy Service within Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about providing a first class service to people with a variety of Musculoskeletal disorders.
Operating hours are between 7am to 7pm across the city and travel between clinics would be required. There may be the opportunity for flexible working. As part of our team, you will have access to a wealth of knowledge and clinical expertise. Our Physiotherapy Assistants receive clinical supervision from qualified Physiotherapists and you will be invited to attend the MSK Assistant In Service Training programme as well as service run Clinical Interest Groups.

Our Musculoskeletal Service is a busy and forward thinking provider of Community Outpatient Physiotherapy across 17 clinic sites in Birmingham serving a diverse population. We receive referrals for acute and chronic conditions from GPs and self referral and have Physiotherapy, Orthopaedic Triage and Pain Management Teams within our Service.
