Actual Annual Salary: £11,699 - £12,612

Full Time Equivalent Salary: CLF Grade C (£28,859 - £31,111)

Contract Type: Fixed‑Term

Contract Length: Fixed until 31 / 03 / 2027 or until the post holder returns

Hours: Part Time, 15 hours per week

Working Pattern
  • Monday : 17:00 – 22:00
  • Tuesday : 17:00 – 22:00
  • Wednesday : 17:00 – 22:00
  • Thursday : O/T available 17:00 – 22:00
  • Friday : O/T available 17:00 – 22:00

Weekend working: O/T available 09:00 – 16:00

Flexibility: can work any 3 days MONDAY – FRIDAY.

Join our dynamic team at Monkton Wood Academy Sports Centre, a thriving hub for community sport and fitness!

We’re seeking a proactive and customer‑focused Senior Leisure Attendant to oversee the day‑to‑day running of our busy school‑based facility, open Monday–Friday (5–10pm) and weekends (9am – 5pm). This is a 15 hours per week contract, covering three mid‑week shifts (Monday–Friday), with overtime opportunities and weekend absence cover when required, plus occasional office hours (in lieu) to support the Leisure and Lettings Management team across the CLF Trust. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead and motivate a team of Leisure Attendants, manage staff rotas, and ensure smooth operations across all shifts.

You’ll take ownership of our online booking system and staff procedures / training, delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and equipment care. If you’re organised, adaptable, and passionate about sport and leisure, this is your chance to make a real impact in a fast‑paced, rewarding role.

About you
  • Key holder responsibilities including the opening and closing of the facilities and preparing the areas for public use.
  • This includes overseeing maintenance, cleaning and Health and Safety standards throughout facilities at all times, instigating repairs as required and ensuring equipment is stored securely and appropriately.
  • Report any operational challenges and / or concerns of any nature to the Deputy Leisure and Lettings Manager.
  • Effectively motivate a team of Leisure Attendants to deliver all Leisure activities in accordance with pre‑scheduled rotas and cover requirements to ensure full delivery of the provision.
  • Supervise, coach and mentor more junior colleagues within the team as directed by the Deputy Leisure and Lettings Manager.
  • Provide operational supervision to Leisure Assistants, including allocation of work and provide feedback as required to Deputy Leisure and Lettings Manager in accordance with the agreed procedures, to aid professional development conversations.
