We have an exciting position available for a Full Time Duty Manager whose role is to assist the Sport and Leisure Manager (SLM) and Assistant Sport & Leisure Manager (ASLM) in developing and maintaining an efficient and effective sport and leisure service by identifying and meeting customer needs and profitability. Assuming responsibility for co‑ordinating and deploying resources both human and material at facility level to supervise, develop and direct designated employees ensuring that the facilities are run efficiently, safely and securely on a day‑to‑day basis, with particular regard to the health and safety of staff and customers.

  • Course content is a mixture of skills and theoretical knowledge in both classroom and pool side setting

  • The role will be based at Worsley leisure Centre, one of the busiest facilities in the city with over 200,000 attendances a year and a growing membership base of more than 3,800 members
  • Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that the cost of the DBS check (currently £49.50) will be deducted from your first two months salary payments at a rate of £24.75 per month
  • Jump/dive into deep water.
    • Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
    • Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back
    • In deep water tread water for 30 seconds
    • Surface dive to the floor of the pool
    • Climb out unaided without ladders/steps where pool design permits
    Successful candidates who do not hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) must be available to attend an NPLQ course and assessment on the following 6 consecutive dates
