Job summary
A recruitment agency is seeking an Engineering and Maintenance Manager located in Sea Scale, UK. This full-time permanent position involves leading the E&M Department, ensuring effective communication of processes, and maintaining compliance with engineering standards. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering or a relevant apprenticeship, along with substantial experience at a department head level in a 24/7 process environment. Support includes training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
Qualifications
- Degree in engineering discipline or relevant engineering apprenticeship.
- E&M experience in a 24/7 process at department head level.
- Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical engineering compliance and legislation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the E&M Department to meet business operating standards.
- Provide guidance for major engineering and maintenance events.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications and E&M policies.
- Supervise and develop the E&M team to achieve business KPIs.
- Understand HSE principles related to engineering and maintenance.

OLG Recruitment are currently looking for an Engineering and Maintenance Manager for our client located in Sea Scale. This is a full-time permanent position.
As the Engineering and Maintenance Manager you will provide, leadership and management of FCHP E&M philosophy, strategy, actions, results and compliance during all running states. You will successfully lead, direct, organise and manage the E&M Department to the requirements of the business Operating standard. You will be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
- Using the framework of disciplined maintenance as best practice, ensure the effective communication and understanding of E&M processes and systems by all department employees and personnel required to complete E&M tasks.
- Provide appropriate guidance and support for all major engineering and maintenance events at FCHP including outage and plant shut down, unplanned and planned events and incidents. Provide leadership regarding investigations, processes, procedural actions and communications.
- Ensure the controlled development, application and monitoring of site technical specifications, E&M policies and procedures appropriate to FCHP throughout its lifecycle.
- Lead and manage the FCHP E&M Department and other assigned personnel ensuring they meet the standards. Take overall responsibility for their supervision, development, welfare and engineering capability and competency in discipline areas and their ability to address technical requirements ensuring standard implementation.
- Set / agree engineer personal objectives and conduct performance appraisals to develop and manage the E&M team consistent with achieving business KPIs.
- Understand the HSE principles of maintaining an Upper Tier COMAH site and the requirements of the COMAH MAPP and COMAH Report. Be fully conversant with the COMAH delivery guides in all aspects relating to engineering and maintenance.
- Degree in engineering discipline or engineering apprenticeship with extensive relevant experience and noted continued professional development.
- E&M experience in a 24 / 7 process at department head level.
- Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical engineering compliance and legislation, including ATEX & DSEAR.
- Understanding and driving the department for Key Performance Indicators as set with the working contract.
