Mechanical Engineer – Power Generation

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering department of one of the UK’s largest Energy from Waste power stations. This plant processes over 700,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste per year producing more than 70MW for the grid, enough to power 160,000 homes.

As the Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for all engineering aspects associated with the sites mechanical equipment to maintain high plant availability.

As the Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for :
  • Chairing a meeting including maintenance and operational staff to agree details of a proposed engineering improvement.
  • Meeting with a contractors to inspect an area of the Plant where a contractor may make a proposal.
  • Analysing data from operational and maintenance systems to support or evaluate a proposed improvement.
  • Liaising with Legal and / or Procurement departments to agree terms on a purchase or maintenance contract.
  • Meeting with Maintenance team to support investigation into a Plant problem, e.g. a repeat failure of a component.
  • Investigating innovative engineering or maintenance techniques which may offer a benefit to the Plant.
