The post is based at Royal Glamorgan Hospital with in‑reach to Princess of Wales Hospital and/or Prince Charles Hospital as required.

The successful candidates will provide dietetic intervention to inpatients on a variety of hospital wards as well as weekly outpatient clinics and education sessions, as required to nursing/medical teams. The candidate will have a key role in student training and will also work closely with a Dietetic Support Worker.

The successful candidates will share our values and vision of an integrated acute and oncology dietetic team. You will be joining a forward‑thinking group of dietitians who are part of a dynamic Dietetic Department of over 90 dietitians and support staff.

The department enjoys a high profile both within the wider Therapies team and across the Health Board and has good clerical and I.T. support. The department fully encourages continuing professional development. With protected sessions in job plans we actively support staff to participate and share learning opportunities and experiences.

Flexible working will be considered along with the opportunity for working from home days.

To have clinical responsibility for a varied caseload made up of adult acute patients on enteral feeding and/or oral nutritional supplements. Also outpatient work including general adult dietetic clinics or group education sessions.

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team which will include medical, nursing, therapy and catering staff and other colleagues and agencies both within the hospital and the community.

To work autonomously and work within professional policies, standards and conduct as laid down by the British Dietetic Association, the Health Care Professions Council and Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board Dietetic Department.

Works within clearly defined organisational policies, work is managed rather than supervised.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; while the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we’ll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
