The Healthcare Assistant role at Elysium Healthcare in Oldham, Greater Manchester involves supporting individuals with daily living skills, engaging in meaningful activities, and providing overall care and support, including assisting with personal care. The role requires experience in working or living with deaf people, the ability to communicate in British Sign Language (BSL) to a minimum of Level 2, and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will join a supportive and friendly team at All Saints Hospital, a specialist mental health service for people who are deaf or have complex communication needs.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include supporting individuals with daily living skills, actively engaging in activities meaningful to those you are supporting, updating resident records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal care. The shift pattern is 12 hours a day, 3-4 days a week, including nights and weekends. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team at All Saints Hospital, which has self-contained flats for men over 18 years old to help them move along their care pathway to more independent living.

What you will be doing:

The shift pattern is 12 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.

About you:

• You may be d/Deaf yourself
• Have experience working or living with d/Deafpeople before
• You can sign in BSL
• Able to Sign BSL to a minimum of Level 2
• You have a strong work ethic and are a team player
• Want to work with d/Deaf people
• Have an interest in helping d/Deaf people with Mental Health problems
