As a Network Engineer with Thorn SDS, you won’t be stuck behind a desk—your work will help shape robust, secure, and scalable networks that support some of the UK’s most high‑stakes operations. You’ll play a vital role in everything from network design and implementation to performance optimisation and cloud integration.
- Configure and manage routers, switches, and VLANs
- Develop robust routing protocols and network segmentation
- Complete relevant documentation
- Create detailed, scalable network designs and configurations
- Automate tasks to streamline network operations
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance performance across environments
- Collaborate in PI planning and cross‑functional teams
- Lead or guide team members as needed

- Proven experience as a Network Engineer in a professional environment
- Hands‑on with routing/switching, network security, automation, and monitoring
- Experience with network virtualisation and cloud technologies
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Competency with Windows and Linux systems
- CompTIA Network+
