What You'll Do

As a Network Engineer with Thorn SDS, you won’t be stuck behind a desk—your work will help shape robust, secure, and scalable networks that support some of the UK’s most high‑stakes operations. You’ll play a vital role in everything from network design and implementation to performance optimisation and cloud integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and manage routers, switches, and VLANs
  • Develop robust routing protocols and network segmentation
  • Complete relevant documentation
  • Create detailed, scalable network designs and configurations
  • Automate tasks to streamline network operations
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance performance across environments
  • Collaborate in PI planning and cross‑functional teams
  • Lead or guide team members as needed

Your Skill Set
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer in a professional environment

  • Experience with network virtualisation and cloud technologies
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Competency with Windows and Linux systems
  • CompTIA Network+
